Yellow Dragon Cave

“The most beautiful tourist cave in China”,Yellow Dragon Cave, located in Wulingyuan Scenic Area, the core scenic spot of Zhangjiajie City, Hunan Province, is an organic part of Zhangjiajie, a world natural heritage and a world geological park. Covering a total area of 48 ha (120 acres), the cave system extends to 15 km (9.3 mi) in length and is divided into dry and wet levels. There are four levels, thirteen chambers, three underground waterfalls, two underground rivers, three pools, ninety-six passages, as well as an underground lake. The largest chamber in the cave is 4,000 m2 (43,000 sq ft) and the highest of the three waterfalls is 50 m (160 ft) high. The guided tour through the cave lasts about two hours and includes a boat ride down one of the underground rivers.

The party hall is the smallest hall in the 13 halls of Yellow Dragon Cave, with an area of about 6,000m2. Opposite the lights and the stalagmites are the dragon stage. Xiangshuihe

A Yin River in the second layer of Yellow Dragon Cave, Xiangshui River has a total length of 2,820m, and a part of the 800-meter tour takes about 8m. The average water depth of Xiangshui River is 6m, the deepest is 12m, and the water temperature is maintained at 16 ℃, which is an ideal living environment for national key protected animal Chinese Giant Salamander.

In the Dragon Palace, there is a tall and thin stalagmite, this is the “The Pillar that Pacifies the Oceans”, the shape is very peculiar, it is 19.2m high, both ends are thick, the middle is thin, the diameter of the thinnest part is only 10 cm. “The Pillar that Pacifies the Oceans” grows on the collapsed slope and is the tallest stalagmite in Huanglong Cave. Speleologists estimate that it will take at least 200,000 years to grow as high as it is today. The upper end of the “The Pillar that Pacifies the Oceans” is 6m away from the top of the cave, and there is water dripping from the top. It is still between growth and development. It is estimated that it will take 60,000 years to “stand up.” As an iconic scenic spot of Huanglong Cave, in order to express the value of “The Pillar that Pacifies the Oceans” and enhance people’s awareness of protection, Yellow Dragon Cave Scenic Spot bought 100 million yuan of insurance for it from insurance companies on April 18, 1998, creating a world-wide resource asset The first to buy insurance.

Hallelujah Concert Hall

Hallelujah Concert Hall as the centerpiece to the Ecology Square, not far from the cave entrance. The hall has a grass-planted roof and cost 160 million RMB. Hallelujah Concert Hall is located at the entrance of Yellow Dragon Cave Ecological Plaza, with a construction area of 4,970 m2. Famous painting artist Huang Yongyu wrote the hall name for the concert hall. The concert hall is adjacent to Yellow Dragon Cave, backed by the lush vegetation of Yellow Dragon Cave, with a green area of 3,000 m2. It is the largest single slope green roof in China and the only ecological theater in the world.

Yellow Dragon Cave Scenic Area Tourist Route Map

The total length of the Yellow Dragon Cave is 7640m and it is divided into four layers. It is a labyrinthine complex cave system. Part of the second, third and fourth floors of the developed caves account for about half of the entire passage system. The total length of the tour route is 3.2 km, including more than 800m of water excursions. The full length of the field tour takes 2 to 3 hours(Approx.).

After arriving in Zhangjiajie City by plane, train or car, if you have a tight schedule, you can directly take a taxi to Yellow Dragon Cave. If you have enough time, you can transfer to a tourist bus (10 minutes / trip) from Zhangjiajie Bus Station to Wulingyuan Bus Station, and then transfer to Wulingyuan City Bus No. 1 goes directly to Huanglong Cave (10 minutes / trip), or transfer to Wulingyuan Taxi to reach Huanglong Cave.
